What to prepare before requesting a used machinery quotation

Start a used machinery enquiry with clear requirements. A photograph or headline price alone does not establish whether a machine fits the job.
1. Describe the job and target model
Include the intended application, brand, model, quantity and budget range. If alternatives are acceptable, state the essential capacity, power or operating requirements.
2. Check age, hours and condition
Ask about the production year, displayed operating hours, service records, known defects and replaced components. Request nameplate photographs, close-ups and operating videos. Cross-check the supplied information and arrange an independent inspection where practical.
3. Define what the quotation includes
Confirm the location, availability, inspection arrangements and expected handover date. Ask whether attachments, loading, transport and other charges are included. Record the quotation currency and validity period.
4. Agree on payment and acceptance
Confirm the receiving entity, listing reference, delivery terms, acceptance process and agreed after-sales scope. Obtain a confirmed quotation before making a purchasing decision on a listing with unconfirmed supply information.
